On a more sober note, these folk also gathered outside the museum to demonstrate
their support for rebels in the Basque separatist movement. That banner is about
a dozen 'holders' longer and stretches out to the street. The people pictured
on it have fallen in combat or been arrested by the Spanish authorities. The
wherabouts of some actually remain unknown. This was a quiet demonstration;
no one cheered, no one jeered. I got the impression that feelings run high on
the subject, but people tend not to talk about it.
